We are the family Hådén/Svensson. We live on the farm Strandsvedjan,
located 24 km from Sundsvall in northern Sweden. All year round you can
rent our cottage to spend your holiday in the swedish countryside, surrounded
by beatiful sceneries and animals. On the farm we have gutesheep, guterabbits,
hedemorahens, geese and cats. Occasionally we also have pigs, depending
on season. Choose between self catering or bed & breakfast.
Our cottage is a typical swedish red cottage (roughly 50 sqm) with one room and a big kitchen. We have 4 + 1 beds but more can be arranged if necessary. The kitchen has the regular appliances like refridgerator, freezer, stove with oven, warm and cold water, there is also a toilet. Showering possibilities. Magnificent view over the fields and the lake Öjen.

Winter at Strandsvedjan
Swimming
The lake is approximately 700 meters away, its a pleasent walk but there
is also a parking lot there.
Fishing
There is plenty of good fishing water in the area. There is planted fish
in Orrsjön, which is specially adapted for disabled people. And in
Åstjärnarna, where you can get to either by car or bike. In
order to fish, you need a special permit, wich we ofcourse can help you
with. There is salmon and gwyniad in the river, Ljungan. And in Öjen
there is pike and perch.
Walks
If you like our beautiful swedish landscape there are plenty of possibilities
for taking walks. Through farming landscape or through the forests. Maybe
you prefer walking up a small mountainhill or maybe go to the Golfcourse
where you have a splendid wiew for several Kilometers.
Picking berries
and mushroom
The best place to pick blueberries is on the hökberget mountain,
lingonberries can be found mostly anywhere. Chanterelles grow by the golf
course. We will be glad to help you out!

We have a couple of old bikes that you can borrow.

Stores
- In Njurundabommen (7 km) there are two grocery stores, pizza restaurant,
barber shops, shoe store, tanning salon.
In Kvissleby (10 km), there is a wider array of stores.
Restaurats - Myre Centrum (4 km) is serving hamburgers and swedish food and is open 8-22 every day, the restaurant by the golfcourse is open monday - thursday 9-20, friday-sunday 9-18.
Golf
- You can play golf only a couple of kilometers from Strandsvedjan. Some
places on the course have magnificent views over the mountains and the
lake Öjen. The Öjestrand golf club has an 18 hole course, 6075
meters long. The record on the course is 68 swings. The short range course
contains 9 pairs, 3 holes with distances from 65 up to 140 meters. The
club has about 1 100 members. There are also other places to play golf
in the area.

Postal services
-The post office is in Njurundabommen, they are open from 9.30 to 20.00.
Bank - There are three banks in Kvissleby just north of Njurundabommen.
Attractions
Njurunda: The archeology path in Nolby, The church
in Njurunda with its little museum. Skatans fishing camp, Lörans
fishing village with restaurants, archeologic mazes and an artist. During
the winter: Downhill skiing i Kvissleby.
Sundsvall: Northern mountain which is also a museum with living
animals and handycraft. Southern Mountain with adventure paths, and during
the winter downhill skiing. Sundsvall stone town and cultural museum.
Svartvik old industrial area. Casina Cosmopol and Ikea.

We are the family Hådén Svensson, we have lived at this farm in 20 years. We keep the animals, together with the herb garden, tavern and cottage rental as a small familybussiness. But we hope that someday we will be able to expand, especially regarding the tavern. Mother Ulrika is the one mostly involved in theese activities. We love our life here at the farm and we would be pleased if you decide to spend your holiday here at Strandsvedjan.
